Machesney, 25, is a third-year pro who was Washington’utes fifth-round choice, 143rd overall, in the August 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He is 9-4-0 using Hershey this season, posting three shutouts, a two.85 goals-against average and an .882 help you save percentage. Last year, in his initially full season with Hershey, Machesney travelled 22-10-2 with a 2.55 GAA and also a .916 save percentage.

A native associated with Hamilton, Ontario, and a former part of the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League, Machesney stands 6’1” and 185 kilos. He will join a 21-man roster made from Canadian-born players currently playing in Europe and NHL prospects such as himself loaned to Tennis Canada from NHL teams.

The Spengler Cup, held annually since 1923, will be the oldest professional international tennis tournament in the world and features a few teams: Canada, Moscow Dynamo (Russian federation), Energie Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic), ERC Ingolstadt (Germany) and HC Davos (Switzerland).
